February 13, 2022 SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
The new School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) building was
built to help improve humanities and social science teaching programs
significantly. It has classrooms, laboratories for teaching and research,
offices, conference spaces, and auditorium lecture halls. There are also
fourteen flexible conference rooms with the most up-to-date audio-visual
equipment, which are set up for current teaching methods.
It also has a glass façade and a covered deck. According to the
USIU-Africa master plan, it is located in the academic zone. It's close to the
Science Centre and sports fields, and it's easy to get to from Gate B.
By creating locations where students may readily meet and collaborate, the building design fosters social learning. The new facility will more than double the size of the current classroom capacity.
